SP Jain Executive MBA Online: Fees, Eligibility and Recognition in India
Searching for "SP Jain EMBA" can land you on two different institutions. SP Jain School of Global Management offers an 18-month online Executive MBA with an Australian award. SPJIMR, a separate Mumbai institute, runs on-campus executive programmes. This guide covers the first, for working professionals weighing a ₹14–16 lakh decision, and explains where the second fits.
What is the SP Jain Online Executive MBA?
It is an 18-month, part-time Executive MBA delivered live online through SP Jain's Engaged Learning Online (ELO) platform. SP Jain says it is designed for professionals with three or more years of work experience, per its program page.
How much does the SP Jain Executive MBA cost?
SP Jain publishes a standard total of ₹16,36,000 under the instalment plan, including 18% GST. Paying everything up front earns a 10% tuition rebate, which brings the total to ₹14,84,200. Both figures come from the official fees page.
Read the table this way: ₹16,36,000 is the standard published total, not a discounted price, and ₹14,84,200 applies only if you choose the lump-sum option. Instalments fall due on the 10th of each month, and SP Jain charges 1% interest for each month an instalment is missed.
Other fee points from the same page:
SP Jain has advertised a separate early-enrolment rebate on the advance acceptance fee, tied to a deadline. Ask admissions whether any such offer applies to your intake, and whether it combines with the lump-sum rebate or a scholarship. The page says fees and discounts change according to any scholarship awarded.
Scholarships are merit-based and limited. Rebates are available to every applicant who meets the stated deadline.
SP Jain says it provides no loans or financial aid. Payment is by NEFT, RTGS, IMPS, UPI, credit card or debit card, not cash, cheque or demand draft.
Optional charges are listed in Australian dollars: a re-test is AUD 300 per unit and redoing a unit is AUD 1,500. Study-tour travel and visa costs are not included.
A non-refundable evaluation fee of USD 50 applies at the interview stage.
SP Jain offers corporate sponsorship and scholarship options. Details are on those pages.
Who is eligible for the SP Jain Executive MBA?
You need a recognised undergraduate degree, at least three years of relevant full-time work after graduating, English proficiency and an aptitude test score. SP Jain assesses whether your work experience is relevant to the course, per its admissions page.
English: Show that your recent education was in English, or submit IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 70 or PTE 60 (valid for two years).
Aptitude test: GMAT or GRE (within 5 years), GMAC Executive Assessment (3 years), CAT or SPJAT (2 years). SPJAT is SP Jain's own test if you have none of the others.
Evaluation: An essay and an interview, with a decision about 14 days later. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
SP Jain reports that its 2024 batch had 317 students averaging 10 years of experience. That is a school-reported figure.
You need to have studied in English. SP Jain expects you to show certified proof that your degree was taught in English. If you genuinely can't get certified copies, the Admission Director can, in exceptional cases, accept self-attested ones, so don't count on it.
If your most recent qualification wasn't in English, you'll need a recent test score instead: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 70 or PTE 60. Only scores from the last two years count, and SP Jain must have them before the program starts. If your score is close to expiring, book the test early.
What does the SP Jain EMBA curriculum cover?
You complete 36 credits across three terms. Core courses cover general management, then you choose one specialisation.
Core topics listed on the program structure page include Marketing Management, Business Economics, Financial Accounting, Human Resource Management, Operations Management, Business Statistics, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Negotiation, Change Management, Corporate Governance and Ethics, and Big Data Analytics and Cloud Technologies. The Executive Career Acceleration Pathway adds career coaching and CV sessions, and the program ends with an Applied Strategic Project.
Assessment is continuous rather than a single final exam, and graduation requires a CGPA of at least 2.0. For the course-by-course list, download SP Jain's curriculum PDF rather than relying on third-party summaries, which can be outdated.
Is the SP Jain Executive MBA recognised in India?
SP Jain's program page states that the program is not accredited or approved by the UGC, AICTE or any other regulatory body in India. The same page describes the award as an Australian degree, accredited by TEQSA, at AQF Level 9. Whether that is enough depends on what you need the qualification for.
Three terms are often blurred together:
TEQSA is Australia's higher-education regulator. SP Jain's footer lists a TEQSA provider identification (PRV12041) for the school. You can check provider and course details yourself on TEQSA's national register.
Accreditation refers to the course. The program page describes the degree as TEQSA-accredited.
AQF Level 9 is the qualification level in the Australian framework, comparable to a master's level.
None of these is Indian regulatory approval, and that distinction is separate from whether a degree is "valid." Check the position for your own purpose:
Government or public-sector jobs: Check the recruiting body's eligibility rules. Some Indian employers and universities ask for an equivalence certificate for foreign qualifications. Ask the specific body what it requires.
Further study in India, such as a PhD: Ask the target university whether it accepts the degree and under what conditions.
Private-sector employers: Policies vary. If you are applying for a role or a promotion that depends on the qualification, ask your employer or recruiter.
Roles with formal qualification requirements: Get written confirmation from the relevant body before you enrol.
SP Jain reports these rankings on its rankings page: #29 globally in the QS International Trade Rankings 2026 for Executive MBA, and #23 in QS 2025 for Executive MBA in International Trade. They are different years and categories. Rankings measure specific criteria and don't show how employers will treat the degree.
Accreditation
Australian side: SP Jain describes the degree as an Australian award, TEQSA-accredited, at AQF Level 9. The school's TEQSA provider ID is PRV12041 and its CRICOS code is 03335G.
Indian side: The program page says it is not accredited or approved by the UGC, AICTE or any other Indian regulator.
Rankings: SP Jain reports #29 in the QS International Trade Rankings 2026 (Executive MBA) and #23 in QS 2025 (Executive MBA in International Trade).
SP Jain Global vs SPJIMR: which "SP Jain EMBA" do you mean?
They are separate institutions with different formats and regulatory positions.
Is the SP Jain Executive MBA worth the cost?
That depends on your goal, your finances and what the qualification will be used for. SP Jain's pages publish alumni stories, which are school-selected, and I found no independent salary or placement data for this program, so any uplift is an assumption you should test yourself.
Estimate payback with explicit assumptions:
Total cost: ₹14,84,200 to ₹16,36,000, plus extras such as re-tests, travel and any lost income.
Net monthly gain: the extra take-home pay you could realistically earn, after tax.
Delay: how many months after enrolling that gain would start.
Payback (months from enrolment): delay + (total cost ÷ monthly gain).
An illustration, not a forecast, using the ₹16,36,000 standard total:
This leaves out financing costs, the value of your study time, and whether a raise comes from the degree or from experience or a job change. Run scenario C honestly: if you wouldn't enrol without a salary increase, think carefully.
It may suit you if you are a mid-career manager, specialist or founder who wants broader business training without leaving work, and your goals don't depend on Indian regulatory recognition.
Think twice if you need a UGC- or AICTE-recognised qualification, can't absorb ₹14–16 lakh without loan support, or want in-person study.
